Black Footed Ferret "badlands"

—  wildlife Sequences —

Behavior: Black-footed ferrets hunt prairie dogs

For: Smithsonian Channel/Terra Mater/Mike Birkhead Associates “Badlands: Hard Rock, Tough Lives”

Info:  Black-footed ferrets are one of the rarest mammals in North America. Seeing one is absolute privilege. Filming them in the wild is extremely difficult as they are completely nocturnal and may only emerge for an hour each night to hunt. Never before had they been successfully filmed raiding a prairie dog den in a wild setting. Additional footage by Danny Schmidt.
